Organised by Desserts Association Singapore (DAS) along with Chillax Asia, the inaugural Singapore Gelato Championship aims to create new culinary trends and raise the level of creativity and professionalism by showcasing Singapore's finest gelato craftsman.
DAS represent the voice of Singapore’s dessert industry and is firmly committed to the growth and development through education and networking opportunities. The organisation represents the interest of members that are in the retail, wholesale, and catering of desserts.

All competitors will receive a certificate issued by the DAS as a testament to their participation.
The first flavor in the evaluation will receive the title of “Singapore’s Best Gelato”.
The first three flavors will receive the following cash prizes!
2nd place winner: S$300
3rd place winner: S$200
RULES & REGULATIONS
Production of Gelato
Each contestant would be required to produce their gelato in a 5-litre tub (approx. 3.5kg) of ONE signature flavor of their choice to impress the Technical Jury Panel as well as the Public Jury. The contestant can prepare their flavor on-site or off-site. But the CHURNING of the gelato has to be done on-site. There will be a batch freezer onsite to freeze the prepared gelato mix into gelato.
The contestant with the best flavor will earn the title of “SINGAPORE’S BEST GELATO”.
The following will be provided by DAS
Preparation area with batch freezer (to churn gelato), stainless steel table, handheld blenders, and induction cookers; and
Base ingredients such as milk, cream, skimmed milk powder, caster sugar, dextrose, emulsifiers, and stabilizers.
The contestant’s gelato will be evaluated by a Technical Jury based on the flavor, structure, and presentation. Technical Jury will comprise 80% of vote. The contestant will also be judged by public vote. Public vote will comprise 20% of vote. In the case of a tie, the flavors will be evaluated by the Technical Jury for the choice of ingredients, and attention to allergens.

Besides submitting the online registration form, each competitor needs to pay a participation fee of $80.
Payment instructions and details will be emailed by DAS to all participants.
DAS will send an official email to notify the competitors of their selection for the competition. The competitors selected for the Singapore Gelato Championship must, within 7 days of the official communication, confirm their participation by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Failure to do so will result in exclusion from the competition.
Only complete applications received by 30 June 2020 will be considered.
